AIRPLANES

Some people sigh at the thought of sitting around an airport for hours. I, on the other hand, am probably three terminals over on Flight Radar looking for the B747 thats rolling in or finding the newest livery to add to my photo collection. As a self-proclaimed “AvGeek,” I’ve spent countless hours sitting at airports and viewing areas watching planes fly overhead. I’ll probably call out the type of aircraft as it flies overhead, and if its close enough to see the airliner, try to guess where its flying to. Fun fact — I’ve saved all of my plane tickets over the past decade or so!

WEATHER

Since I’ve been a kid, I’ve been fascinated by clouds and weather patterns. In the midwest, we’re always in for the occasional severe weather event, and you will surely find me outside watching. Over the years, I’ve taught myself how to read different radar products to understand what’s happening in the sky and what’s coming next. On a dark and stormy day, there’s nothing better to me than putting out a chair and watching how the clouds twist, turn and bubble up into heaps of energy.

PLANTS

From the early beginnings with a monstera and pothos, as one naturally does, I’ve now grown my collection to over 45 plants, a collection that my friends and family coin as my very own greenhouse. Through the years, I’ve taken on and cared for plants of hundreds of species—and dare I even say mastered a few. From my 12-foot bird of paradise to my anthuriums from Honduras, my plants bring light and greenery to every room.

THE COMMON THEME

While these interests exist independently, they are tied together by the same principle that guides my work: commitment. Each hobby requires time, care, and consistency—no different from any job. I stay curious within each pursuit, continually seeking to learn what I don’t yet know. Whether I’m walking an airport or watering my plants, I bring the same attentiveness and intention that I apply to caring for a product or brand and supporting the team around it. In every role, I aim to learn, understand, and grow through the experiences and the people I work with.
